There were plenty of new entries on this week’s chart, but not even indie heroes Bon Iver can get Adele out of the top spot.
That said, Bon Iver’s new self-titled album did debut in the number two position.
Eminem and Royce Da 5’9”’s Bad Meets Evil project scored third place and rapper Pitbull debuted at number five with Planet Pit.
The Grates just missed out on the top ten, their third album Secret Rituals debuting at number eleven.
And Canadian pop-punks Simple Plan nabbed the 13th spot with Get Your Heart On.
Dance diva Wynter Gordon’s With The Music I Die came in at 25 and Owl City’s All Things Bright And Beautiful debuted at number 33.
On the back of Australian visits, both Miley Cyrus and Russell Watson shot up in the charts, Miley re-entering at 30 and Russell climbing to 31 from a 49 debut.
Angus And Julia Stone’s evergreen Down The Way reentered the charts at 36 and Bon Iver’s first album For Emma, Forever Ago came back at 48.
This means that other artists had to make room. Many merely shuffled down, although Arctic Monkeys dropped from 10 to 22 and Glee’s showstoppers album slipped from 27 to 39.
Most notably, while Adele continues to spank everyone on the albums chart, she’s also wrestled LMFAO from the top of the singles chart with her single ‘Someone Like You’.
