Joe Camilleri is putting Jo Jo Zep & The Falcons back together for the band’s 35th anniversary.
The line-up will feature Camilleri, Wilber Wilde, Jeff Burstin, Gary Young, John Power and Tony Faehse.
The very first Jo Jo Zep & The Falcons record was ‘Beating Around The Bush’ on Oz Records in July, 1976. It reached no. 73 on the Australian chart.
The bands biggest album was ‘Screaming Targets’ (1979). It featured ‘Hit and Run’ and ‘Shape I’m In’.
Next came ‘Hats Off Step Lively’ and more hits with ‘All I Wanna Do’, ‘Puppet on a String’ and ‘I Will Return’ but The Falcons were effectively no more after that record and Joe continued recording as Jo Jo Zep. Minus The Falcons he released the ‘Cha’ album (1982) and had another hit with ‘Taxi Mary’.
Jo Jo Zep & The Falcons also reformed in 2003 for the ‘Ricochet’ album and 2007 for their ARIA Hall of Fame Induction.
The Step Lively 35th anniversary reunion tour will be held on September 2, 2011 at The Forum in Melbourne.
