Brisbane music conference BIGSOUND has announced an impressive first list of artists and speakers for 2011.
This essential industry conference, which hosts the bigwigs of the music biz from around Australia and around the world as well as the hottest local acts, begins with a big first announcement.
BIGSOUND 2011 will host scores of the most promising Australian acts, packed into a three-night extravaganza centred around Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley.
First up are: The Getaway Plan, Horrorshow, Calling All Cars, Emma Louise, Eagle & the Worm, Busby Marou, Trial Kennedy, Evil Eddie, Last Dinosaurs, Adalita, Big Scary, Stonefield , Jinja Safari, Owl Eyes, Boy In a Box, Jet side project Damn Dogs, Jonathan Boulet, DZ Deathrays, Bleeding Knees Club, Ball Park Music, The Medics, both The Adults (featuring Shihad's Jon Toogood) and Avalanche City from New Zealand, and The Sheepdogs from Canada.
They’ve also already managed to secure some amazing speakers from around the world including Creation Records & Poptones founder Alan McGee, John O'Donnell of OdFellows Music, Spunk Records head Aaron Curnow, Matador Records Natalie Judge, Frenchkiss Records' Paul Hanley, Warner Music boss Tony Harlow, Mike Walsh of XFM, Jen Long of the BBC, triple j's Richard Kingsmill, representatives from Canadian Music Fest, Big Day Out and Peats Ridge Festival and scores more.

BIGSOUND runs from September 7 to 9 in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley live music precinct.
