Chocolate Starfish guitarist Zoran Romic will undergo treatment for non Hodgkin lymphoma which has led to the cancellation of the Chocolate Starfish reunion gigs in July.
Zoran was recently diagnosed with the disease and will start treatment in the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne next week.
The recovery period is expected to be a few months but Zoran is expected to make a speedy recovery and return to full health following the treatment.
Chocolate Starfish recently announced their reunion with shows scheduled for Geelong and Melbourne in July. The shows affected are July 14 at the National Hotel in Geelong and July 16 at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne.
Shows later in the year in Queensland have also been booked and will go ahead at this stage. The Victorian shows will be rescheduled when Zoran recovers.
Chocolate Starfish formed in Melbourne in the early 90s and had their first hit with a cover of Carly Simon’s ‘You’re So Vain’ (#11). ‘Mountain’, released in 1994 reached #12.
The Chocolate Starfish album reached #2 in 1994 on the Australia chart. Pseudo Echo’s Brian Canham produced the album.
Zoran and Chocolate Starfish drummer Darren Danielson formed management company Fur and represent Jaime Robbie Reyne and Boom Crash Opera.
