The Potbelleez went outside their inner circle for the new album ‘Destination Now’.
“We did definitely want to branch out and work with other people, that's for sure,” Ilan Kidron, The Potbelleez male singer tells undercover.fm.
“We enlisted the work of people who were more experienced than us, people like Shave and Paul Mac that have such a great history and great recognition for their work in Australia and in electronic music and within pop music. We were very lucky that they were available and wanted to work with us as well,” says Blu.
The album has already generated Top 40 hits with ‘Hello’ and ‘From The Music’. Ilan says that creating album number two was an enjoyable experience. “I wouldn’t call it difficult,” he says. “The process was a lot more welcoming and enjoyable for us than the first one. The first one was like a shotgun wedding. We met, quick lets do an album, get it out there because we had a big single.”
If anything, the pressure was off for ‘Destination Now’. “We have taken our time with this one and worked with the people we really wanted to work with,” he says. “We had a huge amount of songs and come down to these songs and we think its pretty much what we are”.
