The first authorised biography of Australia’s most popular rock band Powderfinger will be released late this year.
Mess+Noise reveals that Dino Scatena – former Rolling Stone and Daily Telegraph music editor – has completed the first authorised biography of the recently retired Brisbane rock icons.
The book title – Powderfinger Footprints: The Inside Story Of Australia’s Best Loved Band – is a riff on their 2004 Greatest Hits album Fingerprints.
According to Mess+Noise, Scatena reveals, “They are genuinely five of the sweetest, humblest and funniest guys you’ll meet in rock’n’roll. That won’t come as a shock to anyone who knows anything about Powderfinger. What will surprise is the story these very private men finally share here about their extraordinary 20 years together.”
The book will also feature hundreds of never-before-seen photos of the band.
In their twenty year together, Powderfinger released seven studio albums which collectively sold 29-times platinum, the last five debuting at number one on the ARIA Charts.
Footprints will be published by Hachette on November 8.
