Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ album looks like selling close to a million units in America this week making it the fastest selling album of the year but not enough to better Taylor Swift’s ‘Speak Now’.
Hitsdailydouble.com is predicting Gaga ‘Born This Way’ should do somewhere between 900k and 950k. Taylor Swift ‘Speak Now’ did 1.04 million in the first week when it was released in October.
Gaga will however set a new digital sales record for the album’. Around 400k of those 900k sales will be digital downloads which means even in the land of Gaga most fans still prefer physical product.
Coldplay was the previous record holder with 400k sold in the first week. Lady Gaga did 288k in the first day.
