Zoot, the Australian rock band from the 60s featuring Rick Springfield, Beeb Birtles, Daryl Cotton and Rick Brewer, are reforming for a cruise show.
All members of Zoot went on to other things after the band broke up. Rick became the solo star with hits like ‘Jessie’s Girl’ and ‘Speak To The Sky’, Darryl went solo and had a Top 10 hit with ‘Same Old Girl’, Rick formed The Ferrets and had a number one song with ‘Don’t Fall In Love’ and Beeb formed Mississippi then Little River Band and had global success.
The original band will perform for the Rick Springfield and Friends cruise leaving Miami in November.
Zoot’s biggest hit was their acid rock cover of The Beatles ‘Eleanor Rigby’. It reached no. 3 on the Australian charts in 1971. Soon after, the band broke up.
