Birds Of Tokyo, Tame Impala and Split Seconds lead the nominations for this year’s Public Voting section of the WAMi Awards, and voting begins today.
The Public Voting categories of the West Australian Music Industry Awards have been put up online and you can start casting your votes from today until midday May 6.
Birds Of Tokyo and Tame Impala scored the most nominations across the six musician-specific categories – both for Most Popular Album and Most Popular Act, with Tame Impala scoring another for Most Popular Live Act.
New act Split Seconds were nominated for Favourite Newcomer, Most Popular EP/Single, and Most Popular Act.
The other acts to scores nominations are ShockOne, Jebediah, The Joe Kings, Gyroscope, Pond (which is a Tame Impala side project), 6’s & 7’s, The Growl, Sam Perry, San Cisco, Drapht, Abby May, Boys! Boys! Boys!, The Brow Horn Orchestra and two for Felicity Groom.
There are also categories for Most Popular Music Event, Most Popular Music Venue and Most Popular Music Website.
