Australian country music star Lee Kernaghan is now in second place behind Slim Dusty for the most won Country Music Awards.
Kernaghan won four awards this weekend in Tamworth, bringing his tally to 24 awards and putting him ahead of John Williamson.He now has his sights set on Slim Dusty's 37 award record.
Kernaghan won Male Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Top Selling Album of the Year and Heritage Song of the Year at the Awards, held last night in the northern New South Wales city.
Female Artist of the Year went to Beccy Cole.
The McClymonts won Group of the Year and New Talent of the Year.
The Tamworth Country Music Festival is held on the long weekend every January.
