Rebecca Black, the 13-year old viral ‘WTF’ sensation who in the past two weeks has become one of Google’s top keywords, has signed up music manager Debra Baum to represent her.
Baum runs the small indie New Jersey management company dB Entertainment. The company consults Hollywood for music in feature films, television and advertising, as well as managing indie, pop-rock and punk artists. Baum was also a founding partner of music firm Hit The Ground Running.
Ryan Seacrest brokered the deal with dB. dB Entertainment formally looked after Boys Night Out, Halifax and Senses Fail.
The signing with dB sets up a platform for train-wreck singer Rebecca Black to release her first album. Black says she wants to record “Dance anthem-like stuff”.
As of March 26, ‘Friday’ has been viewed more than 56 million on YouTube.
