Bassist Anthony Jackson of pop-rock sensation Birds Of Tokyo has departed the band.
Birds Of Tokyo have just finished up a Canadian tour and announced on their Facebook page that Jackson is no longer playing bass in the band.
Their statement reads: “[Birds Of Tokyo] wish to announce that we have come to the end of a journey with one of our own. Our mate Anthony will no longer be playing with Birds. We have always believed in organic movement and following the heart and gut. We love our friend and sincerely wish all the best for him. We are very positive about the future and look forward to walking down some amazing new avenues shortly. Stay tuned. ;)”
Rumour has it that Jackson has not been performing with the band for at least a month, with bassist Ian Berney from Perth rock act Sugar Army filling in.
Birds Of Tokyo have a heap of gigs planned for the immediate future, including this weekend’s Melbourne F1 Grand Prix, triple j’s ‘One Night Stand’, the Groovin The Moo run of dates and a handful of Queensland shows.
