At the lowest point in her cancer struggle, Kylie Minogue dropped to 38kg (77lb), with the pop superstar unable to move her frail figure, let alone leave her house.
In her first interview, with British broadcaster Cat Deeley, Minogue explained, "The days you didn't see me, or no one saw me, were the days that I simply couldn't get up or could not do anything ... I had moments where you just don't want to look in the mirror."Whilst Minogue was told she had breast cancer in early May 2005, she revealed that she became concerned about her health well before the shattering diagnosis. She struggled during rehearsals for her now-postponed world tour, saying "I recall going to two sound guys and saying, 'Maybe I'm too old for this? I'm so tired'."
Minogue went on to offer words of encouragement to women who share her predicament, "I love to say you can get through it. You can. Having had cancer, one important thing to know is you're still the same person at the end, you're the same person during it.
"You're stripped down to, you know, you're ... down near zero. But ... it seems that most people come out at the other end feeling more like themselves than ever before."
