As was reported earlier in the week, R.E.M. has brought in a group of directors to make short films for each of the songs on their upcoming album Collapse Into Now.
The list of directors includes Oscar-nominated actor James Franco, filmmaker, photographer, and conceptual artist Sam Taylor-Wood and Oscar-nominated documentary filmmaker Albert Maysles. See a full list of directors below.
The films will be unveiled for viewing at broadcast and web outlets over the course of the next several weeks; stay tuned to www.remhq.com for schedule and details.
Rolling Stone calls Collapse Into Now "a portrait of full-grown artists who reached the top long ago but decided to stick together and ride out the decades. Collapse Into Now will be released by Warner Bros. Records on March 7th. It Happened Today is currently available on iTunes as an Instant Download track for those who pre-order the Deluxe Version.
