A severe ear infection is the reason Slayer’s Tom Araya was hospitalised yesterday and why Slayer had to cancel their Sydney Soundwave slot.
Araya has had a rough year with his health dating back to early 2010 when his back surgery brought touring to a halt for Slayer for many months.
Soundwave promoter AJ Maddah assures fans that Slayer will be back in action for the Melbourne Soundwave this Friday.
Tom’s wife Sandra has told fans via Facebook that her husband is feeling much better but it will be a few days before the test results are back.
Slayer are currently touring without founding member, guitarist Jeff Hanneman. Hanneman has a serious arm infection thought to be caused by a spider bite. Gary Holt from Exodus is taking his place until he recovers.
