Slayer Miss Sydney Show, Tom Araya Ill

Slayer has missed their Soundwave slot in Sydney after singer Tom Araya was hospitalised.

Slayer cancelled their Sydney festival slot just an hour before they were due to go onstage.

Slayer is one of the main acts for Soundwave 2011. The Australian festival also features Iron Maiden, Slash, Rob Zombie and

The band already had one replacement member on this tour. Guitarist Jeff Hannerman was replaced with Gary Holt of Exodus because of arm surgery.

Araya is expected to be better for the next Soundwave sound in Melbourne this Friday.
