A year after the pivotal Save Live Australia’s Music Rally, the Tote hosts an extra special, all-star gig.
Exactly one year ago, 20,000 Melbournians hit the city streets to challenge the State Government’s punitive liquor license restrictions on live music venues.
The SLAM Rally was a rousing show of strength and people power, helping change legislation and save many live venues from unnecessary security restrictions that would all but shut them down.
While the fight is never over, SLAM is certainly celebrating the win with a unique show tonight at the spiritual home of the struggle, the Tote in Collingwood.
Dubbed the ‘Tote Jukebox – Unholy Collaborations’, the show will feature Angie Hart, Dan Sultan, Even, Glenn Richards of Augie March, Gun Street Girls, Kim Salmon’s Precious Jules, Oh Mercy, Paris Wells, Spencer P Jones, The Panics, Wedgetail, Wolfgramm Sisters and more special guests.
All proceeds from the night will go to the Victorian Red Cross Flood Appeal.
Nick Cave has also donated a signed guitar, that was played on the recent Grinderman tour, for auction to add to the flood appeal support.
You can bid here. The auction will finish on Saturday March 5.
