Britney Spears has earned $500,000 for placing products in her new ‘Hold It Against Me’ video.
TMZ claims that Britney Spears cut a deal with dating site PlentyOfFish.com to feature in the clip and the site reported a 20% increase in traffic on the day the video was released.
Exact payments aren’t known, but other products that feature in the clip include Sony TVs and computer monitors, Make Up Forever cosmetics and Britney’s own Radiance perfume.
The director of the clip, Jonas Åkerlund, also made Lady Gaga’s ‘Telephone’ clip which in turn featured product placement for the PlentyOfFish site among other consumer goods.
Since the single dropped precipitously off the charts following its number one debut, this look like an auspicious money-making decision for Britney’s camp.
