Lawyers for Heather Mills have refuted yesterday's claim that she has made a divorce settlement with Paul McCartney.
British tabloid 'News Of The World' reported that Mills had accepted an $80million out-of-court settlement, in a deal which included two properties. The story was reported by media worldwide.But Mischon de Reya Solicitors have released a statement explaining, "With regard to the article in yesterday's 'News of the World', we would like to state that there has been no offer made whatsoever at any time to our client and therefore no settlement has been agreed."
If the divorce proceedings end up in court, McCartney will have the opportunity to challenge Mills' claims that he had abused her during their four year marriage. However, he also stands to lose a significantly larger slab of his estimated $2billion fortune.
