Sharp Melbourne indie trio Bit By Bats plan their debut album, an Australian support tour and a jaunt to Canada and the UK.
In December 2006 the group signed up with uber-hip Melbourne label Shiny Records (home to Death From Above 1979, Broken Social Scene, Jason Collett et al) for their debut album. The album will be dubbed 'Go, Go, Go!' and is slated for a March 2007 release date. It's their first full-length after the promising string of singles from 'Dance The Dance' to 'All Night'. It was recorded with Dean Turner of Magic Dirt and Lindsay Gravina (The Living End, Thirsty Merc, Spiderbait etc) at Birdland Studios. The band promise to continue their journey of spiky riffs embedded in a moody mix of jittering new wave and post-punk.
The band plan a national tour to launch it but they're very busy before then. Through February they'll support Millencolin singer Nikola Sarcevic around the country. Then in March they'll head to Canada and the UK for some dates. So the album launch shows will have to wait until at least April.
