KCBS Paul Magers says that watching colleague Serene Branson appear to have a stoke while live on-air was indeed disturbing.

Magers threw to Branson for a report live from the Grammy Awards on Sunday night but as soon as she started to talk her words came out all mangled. Viewers who did not recognise the stroke symptoms thought it was a joke and YouTube footage overnight became a viral sensation.

Magers said he new something was immediately wrong and told his producer to call 911.

“That’s one of the most disturbing things I’ve ever witnessed,” said told the Minneapolis Star newspaper. “Oh my God, I tell you, I was disturbed. God, it looked like a stroke.”

“As we were going into our package, I said to our producer, ‘Phone 911. There’s physically something wrong with her,’” he said.

Branson was taken for tests. She is now recovering at her home.
