Undercover hears there is a movie about Milli Vanilli in the planning stages.
So it should be too. Milli Vanilli were way ahead of their time. It turned out that Rob Pilatus and Fab Morvan were the pioneers of lip-synching. Oh yeah, everyone does it now, Britney, Pink, but then singers were meant to sing and they were the first to fake it.
Milli Vanilli stood alone pretending to have talent when they clearly had none, but of course today in the business biz, that quality is almost a pre-requiem for getting signed.
Milli Vanilli really fooled the world. They scored three number one hits in the USA and then won Best New Talent at the 1990 Grammy Awards Later when it was discovered that they didn’t sing on their records they were disgraced and the Grammy was revoked.
Rob Pitatus was found dead in a hotel room in Frankfurt in 1998. His death was caused from an accidental drug overdose. Fab Morvan found work as a DJ in Los Angeles. In 2003 he released his first solo album. He actually sang on it.
German director Florian Gallenberger is making the movie.
