Dead Kennedys, minus Jello Biafra, have announced an Australian tour.
The ‘80s punk provocateurs first visited Australia in 1983 and this is a very rare appearance.
Then again, it would be more rare if they actually had original singer Jello Biafra with the band.
Biafra and the rest of the Dead Kennedys have had an acrimonious history, so for this tour we’ll have East Bay Ray, Klaus Flouride, D.H. Peligro and new singer Ron “Skip” Greer.
Skip Greer is no Jello soundalike (hey, who is?). He previously fronted a band called the Wynona Ryders.
Dead Kennedys will play three Australian shows in April, in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
Tickets go on sale 9am tomorrow, Friday 11 February from MoshTix, Ticketek, and the Brisbane and Sydney venues.
