Soundwave has moved their Sydney event away from the notorious Eastern Creek Raceway.
Eastern Creek hosted Soundwave in Sydney last year, where tens of thousands were scorched by beating sun as a tiny portion of the rolling hills was shaded, were blasted with dust, and the venue ran out of water in the early afternoon.
Fans sought refuge from the sun by using bins and portaloos for shade and hopped fences to fill water bottles from broken spigots.
That was after interminable train and bus connections out to the suburban fringe venue. And the same back.
Soundwave organisers now announced that they have put an enormous amount of effort in trying to make the Eastern Creek venue habitable, but have decided to put off unveiling their work this year.
So they have announced that this year’s Sydney Soundwave will be hosted at the Sydney Showground in Sydney Olympic Park instead.
Rejoice, New South Welshfans, it's going to be great.
