The newly reactivated Stax Records will celebrate its 50th Anniversary with the release of a deluxe edition 50 song, 2 CD box set.
'Stax 50: A 50th Anniversary Celebration' will be released on March 13, 2007.The legendary Memphis label was the home of soul music in the 60s and 70s. Artists who graced the label include Isaac Hayes, Booker T & The MG's, The Staple Singers, Otis Redding, Eddie Floyd, William Bell, Sam & Dave and Little Milton.
In its day, Stax had 167 hits on the Billboard pop chart and 243 hits on the R&B charts.
Recently, Concord Music Group resurrected the label and has resigned Isaac Hayes.
Stax will also release the new album for Angie Stone in 2007.
