You can always rely on Lemmy Kilmister to shoot straight from the hip. The release of a Motorhead Box set titled " The Complete Early Years" is not something he wants fans to purchase.
The box set released last year and contains all eight of the early albums('Motorhead', 'Overkill', 'Bomber', 'Ace of Spades', 'No Sleep 'till Hammersmith', 'Iron Fist', 'Another Perfect Day', and 'No Remorse') delivered in 5-inch Japanese miniature wallets. All of the early singles are to be found ('Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers', 'Louie Louie', 'Golden Years EP', 'St. Valentine's Day Massacre', 'Killed By Death', 'Stand By Your Man', and 'Shine'), a collector's guide to Motorhead book, a limited edition Justin Hampton Motorhead print, concert programmes, a collection of badges all housed in Motorhead style skull.
And what would you expect to pay for all this? Apparently $600.00, however I have found one for around $360.00.
Interestingly Motorhead do not own the rights to most of this early work so its no surprise Lemmy is encouraging people not to purchase the set stating in so may words that Motorhead have no control over what the record company do and do not want fans to believe the band has anything to do with the ridiculous price.
