Australian artists nab 30 spots in the end of year ARIA Top 100 album list.
That’s exactly two more spots for Australian albums than last year’s Top 100, although The Temper Trap’s Conditions and Powderfinger’s Golden Rule appear in both year-end charts.
The highest-selling Australian album was Angus & Julia Stone’s Down The Way at number seven.
Altiyan Childs had an incredible late run with his self-titled debut, coming in at 19, then the solid seller April Uprising by John Butler Trio at 20 and Birds Of Tokyo’s breakthrough smash at 24.
Guy Sebastian appeared with his double album retrospective Twenty Ten at 27.
The next Aussie albums are the holdovers from last year – The Temper Trap at 28 and Powderfinger at 32.
Also getting into the top 50 is Bliss N Eso’s Running On Air at 37, Washington’s I Believe You Liar at 43, AC/DC’s Iron Man 2 soundtrack at 44 and Pendulum’s Immersion at 49.
Legacy acts like Kylie Minogue, John Farnham, Keith Urban, Kasey Chambers, Jimmy Barnes, Vanessa Amorosi and Human Nature all featured in the second 50.
And newer artists in the final 50 include Tame Impala, Little Red, Parkway Drive, Sarah Blasko, Short Stack and Mark Vincent (who had two albums, Compass at 74 and The Great Tenor Songbook at 89).
