Usher is a big fan of The Baseballs’ version of his hit song ‘Love In This Club’.
When The Baseballs visited Undercover, they explained that a London DJ is giving them a lot of exposure to the artists whose songs they have covered. “There is a radio in the UK who likes playing our songs to the original artists when they are in the studio. For example there was Usher,” Basti said.
Sam added, “Usher listened to our versions. He heard our version of Love and he said, “Wow, it sounds great. Like Elvis remakes ‘Love In This Club’. My Grandmother will love this”.
The only artist they have come face to face with was Robbie Williams. They covered his hit song ‘Angels’ but Williams wasn’t really interested in these three guys from Berlin. “We met Robbie Williams but we had some dancers with us and he was more interested in the dancers,” Sam said.
“He liked our hairstyle. He said Wow, that looks good,” joked Basti.
The Baseballs album features 50’s style covers of current hits from Katy Perry, Beyonce, Rihanna and Snow Patrol.
