Jessica Mauboy has re-recorded a version of her hit ‘Saturday Night’ in “Simlish” - a made up language spoken by the characters in the video game The Sims.
Mauboy said of the experience, “It was one of the funniest and most challenging things I’ve ever done. I practically had to learn an entirely new language! As a fan of the games, I’ve always wondered what the characters were saying, and now not only have I sung in ‘Simlish’, but my song is featured in the game - how cool is that?
“As an artist, it’s incredibly exciting to be involved with one of the most popular games in the world alongside such amazing global music talent. I can’t wait for my fans to play the games while having a dance to “Saturday Night” - or should I say, ‘Surbiduh Nye’!”
Other artists that have re-recorded their tunes include Kelly Rowland, Kelis and Flo-Rida.
The track will appear in The Sims 3 for consoles, and The Sims 3: Late Night expansion pack, both of which are available now.
