The Buffalo Springfield reunited for the first time in forty years over the weekend for the 24th annual Bridge School Benefit. The two-night concert is a benefit for the Bridge School, a Hillsborough, CA institution to help those who have severe physical and speech impairments. The show is organized every year by Neil Young and his wife Peggy.
The lineup for this year's shows was quite amazing with T-Bone Burnnett's Speaking Clock Review (Elton John, Leon Russell, Elvis Costello), Pearl Jam, Merle Haggard & Kris Kristofferson, Lucinda Williams and many more, but the big event was the Springfield reunion with Young, Stephen Stills and Richie Furray.
Even though a number of sites reported that Jim Messina would also take part, he wasn't on hand. Sitting in were Young's bassist Rick Rosas for the late Bruce Palmer and drummer Joe Vitale for the late Dewey Martin.
