Lynn Thorpe, the widow of Aussie rock legend Billy Thorpe, will launch her book about her late husband at the Rock Of Ages 3 concert in Melbourne on October 29.
‘Keep Rockin’ Billy Thorpe’ features photos, memorabilia and personal recollections from Lynn as well as interviews with stars close to Billy like Mick Fleetwood, Jimmy Barnes and Olivia Newton-John.
Billy Thorpe died suddenly on February 28, 2007 at the age of 60. One of Australia’s true rock legends, Thorpe was a teen star in the 60s before reinventing himself in the 70s with The Aztecs as one of Australia’s greatest live rock acts.
While he is best known for the hit song ‘Most People I Know Think That I’m Crazy’ in Australia, Thorpe cracked it big time in the USA when his ‘Children of the Sun’ album made the Billboard chart.
Aztec Records, founded by Billy Thorpe and The Aztecs drummer Gil Matthews, puts on the Rock of Ages concerts. Matthews, former Aztec Warren Morgan and Billy Kristian will also be signing at the show.
Rock of Ages 3 will feature The Masters Apprentices, Billy Field, Madder Lake, Ross Ryan, Neale Johns of Blackfeather, Spectrum and Levi Smith’s Clefs.
Gil Matthews has remastered the original albums of these acts and releases them through Aztec Music.
'Tangier' was released by Sony Music today.
'Rock Of Ages 3 is on October 29 at The Palms at Crown Casino.
