Chillwave pioneer Ernest Greene, better known as Washed Out, has hooked up a couple of extra Australian show around Meredith.
The singer-songwriter Greene, from Georgia in the US, was discovered by fervid music bloggers, who cheered his minimalist, low-fi electro-folk which was soon dubbed “chillwave”.
After two EPs, tours with Beach House and Yeasayer, and critical-acclaim, Washed Out comes to Australia.
His ethereal, sun-bleached songs will certainly suit an Australian summer, so he was a welcome addition to the twentieth Meredith Music Festival line-up.
Now Washed Out has hooked up a couple of city side-shows for those who can’t make it out to the bush.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, October 15.
