Sandrine Orabona, the videographer for Michael Jackson’s ‘This Is It’ documentary, will debut her latest documentary for Grammy nominated R&B/electronica/hip-hop duo, The Foreign Exchange, on uctv.fm this Friday (October 15, 2010).
The Foreign Exchange consists of rapper/singer/songwriter Phonte Coleman and producer Nicolay Rook who came together via the online community in 2002. Earlier this year, the duo was nominated for a Grammy for Best Urban/Alternative Performance for the song ‘Daykeeper’.
Sandrine Orabona is the co-founder of Foreign Films in Los Angeles and worked with Michael Jackson as videographer for ‘This Is It’, the documentary that captured the final rehearsals for Jackson. She was originally hired by Michael to film the footage from the rehearsals for the ‘This Is It’ tour for what was intended to be for Jackson’s private library. After his death, that footage was made into the ‘This Is It’ movie. She had previous worked on video productions for Dave Matthews Band and Shakira.
For her latest project, she is once again telling a music story. “The Foreign Exchange have such an incredible story to tell and to tell the story of their third album we wanted to be able to share the message with fans all over the world. uctv.fm gives The Foreign Exchange a global footprint for spreading the word about the incredible story behind their new album ‘Authenticity’,” says tells Undercover.
When asked about the meaning behind their third album, ‘Authenticity’ Phonte replies, "The title refers to me and Nic's journey to find our own unique space within this vast musical landscape.” Nicolay continues “And since our first album, “Connected” was made solely via the internet, it’s only fitting that we would take the opportunity to share our music and message through the evolution of online technology uctv.fm.”
The Foreign Exchange’s third album ‘Authenticity’ is released this week through +FE Music.
