Dark Horse Records are about to release a spectacular box set containing collaborations between George Harrison and Ravi Shankar.
The box contains three CDs and one DVD and is a uniquely numbered set.
The DVD is a concert performance of ‘Ravi Shankar’s Music Festival From India’, recorded live at London’s famed Royal Albert Hall in 1974, while the CDs are ‘Chants Of India’ (1997), ‘The Ravi Shankar Music Festival From India’ (studio version, 1976) and ‘Shankar Family and Friends’ (1974).
There is also a 56 page book containing a foreword by acclaimed composer Phillip Glass and a “history of George and Ravi”, written by George and Ravi.
The box set will be available through www.georgeharrison.com from October 19.
