Original AC/DC singer Dave Evans is set to return to Australia from his Dallas home to pay tribute to his replacement, Bon Scott in Perth.
Evans sang lead vocals on the first two AC/DC singles, 'Can I Sit Next To You Girl?' and 'Baby Please Don't Go' and he will perform these two songs at the show."We had a residency at Beethovens night club for their late spot but also played other venues for the early spot." Evans told Undercover of his time with AC/DC, "The W.A. crowds loved us and I have great memories there of parties, gorgeous women and great rock crowds."
"A highlight for us was when we opened for Daddy Cool at an open air concert as we were all fans of the band. Unfortunately I have not been back to the West since those times and am really looking forward to it once I get back to Australia in February."
"It will be great to see some of my music contemporaries as it has been some time since I have seen many of them and I know that we will do Bon Scott proud!"
After he left AC/DC he moved to Newcastle, NSW to join Rabbit, a band some described as glam, but as Evans told Undercover, "The title glam does not fit well with us as the image was taken from the movie A CLOCKWORK ORANGE - before Kiss - and those boys were far from glam - more ultra violent."
He currently resides in Dallas, TX where he fronts his band Dave Evans and the Badasses.
The Bon Scott Celebration Concert will be held at the Claremont Showgrounds, Claremont, Western Australia on February 25.
The lineup includes Featuring The Angels, Rose Tattoo and The Party Boys, The Screaming Jets, Dave Warner from the Suburbs, The Kill Devil Hills, The Flairz and more.
Proceeds from the show will raise money for a Bon Scott statue in Fremantle, where the singer is buried as well as help out Support Act.
