Australian musician Clare Bowditch will be interviewing Prime Minister Julia Gillard less than one week out from the Australian federal election.
The interview will be broadcast through MySpace's new blog section, MySpace Today at 6pm (Australian EST), Tuesday, August 16."In a campaign that has seen limited social media activity from across the political spectrum – we're delighted that the PM will take some time out to address our audience in this way. We couldn't be happier that someone as smart and politically-aware as Clare Bowditch will be adding a MySpace twist to the proceedings. Should make from an interesting break from the typical political interviews from the past few weeks!" said Nick Love, Managing Director, MySpace Australia.
The singer is very politically active and has become somewhat of a spokesperson for the Australian artistic community when it comes to the political realm. She has appeared on ABC's Q&A and SBS's Insight and regularly voices her political views through her Twitter account.
She posed the hypothetical question "If you were about to interview Julia Gill, and shared a fairly similar hairstyle, would you accentuate that, or go "curling tongs"?" via the micro-blogging service on Friday, August 13, before the interview was announced.
The ARIA award winning singer has released four albums, the latest being 'Modern Day Addiction'.
