Pop-punk legends the Descendents announce their first Australian tour with a surprise punk festival.
This one kinda came out of nowhere. Not only are one of the greatest punk bands of the nineties touring Australia for the first time ever, but they claim that they're doing it atop a massive December festival.
On Descendents Online, there's a missive saying that they'll play alongside NOFX, Frenzal Rhomb, Parkway Drive, Killswitch Engage, Atreyu, Dropkick Murphys, Me First And The Gimme Gimmes and "about 10 other internationals (all punk, metal hardcore)…"
They advertised a set of dates, Friday December 17 at the Melbourne Showgrounds, Saturday December 18 at Sydney University Sports Fields and Sunday December 19 at the Brisbane Riverstage and the City Gardens.
Yet we haven't been able to find any more proof of this 'ghost festival' on any of the venues websites.
Hopefully it's a case of "If you announce it on the internet, they will come".
