Entries for the Melbourne Prize For Music are coming to a close giving you your final days in three years to compete.
While the Melbourne Prize is an annual award, it rotates every three years for Sculpture then Literature then Music. The next Music Prize will happen in 2013.The last Melbourne Prize for Music was held in 2007. The winner was Paul Grabowsky. Genevieve Lacey was awarded Outstanding Musician and Julian Langdon won the Development Award.
The judging committee this year for the Music Prize is Emma Ayres, Presenter for ABC Classic FM, Trevor Green, Orchestra and Arts consultant, Chong Lim, composer, producer and director and Gary McPherson, Ormond Chair and Head, School of Music, the University of Melbourne.
There is a $100,000 prize pool for the Melbourne Prize for Music this year. Finalists will feature over a two-week exhibition at Federation Square from November 8 to 22.
