Jordie Lane has a brand new single out this week, and it's the first taste of what you can expect from his forthcomiong album due out in early 2013.
The single " Fool For Love" was recorded in L.A with bigtime producer Tom Biller, drumming legend Matt Chamberlain and sees the return of The Eagle Rock Gospel Choir with a cacophony of aural delights in this folk, country, psychedelic noodle soup of a track.
"Fool For Love" starts out with a riff that puts me in mind of The Db's "Bad Reputation", with that 80's pop/country guitar jangle pepping up the mood for the entire song. This is intermittently laced with keys, an extremely bright organ and gospel voices all laid out on a bed of slow groovin', funky but dependable bass lines, chugging rhythm and drums that kick in with powerful effect at around 39 seconds. A new direction for Jordie Lane and fabulous one at that. Check it out under the tour dates below.
Currently touring in North America, Jordie will return later this month to support Billy Bragg on a solo theatre tour. He and his band will then hit the road for a nationwide tour with some very special guests still to be announced. Ticket info here.
