A pirated Eminem album titled `Shady Situation` has surfaced physically and digitally in Australia and is on sale in some music stores.
Stores have been alerted to the rogue release but a quick Google search has revealed that Stomp Entertainment is distributing the album in Australia.Music Industry Piracy Investigations advised stores nationwide of the pirated album today.
Sabiene Heindl from MIPI tells Undercover that Stomp has been advised and was complying with removing the title from its catalogue.
Stomp had the album for sale online for $21.92 and was reporting availability at stores in Potts Point, Newtown and Narellan in New South Wales, Glenelg in South Australia and Wooldridge in Queensland.
According to the Stomp blurb: "After a long hiatus Marshall Mathers is back firstly destroying all competition with his excellent 'Relapse' album and secondly with this amazing CD 'The Shady Situation' featuring many unreleased bangers from Eminem's back catalogue and un heard freestyles dating back to 1997 right up to the present day. The beauty in 'The Shady Situation' lies in its meticulous attention to detail which is light years ahead of any other Eminem compilation ever released. This awe inspiring disc features Marshall Mathers in all his guises, so we get to hear the crazy blood thirsty Slim Shady lyrics alongside the battle genius of Eminem and the heartfelt musings of Mr Mathers, if there's any other album you need this year it can only be this simply sensational assembly of tunes known as 'The Shady Situation'".
'Shady Situation' is listed as being through Purple Slick Records but the company doesn't appear to have its own website. Instead, Google's top search refers back to Stomp.
The title is believed to have been sourced from Germany.
"This is basically a mop-up operation for Australia," Ms Heindl says. Another Eminem bootleg 'Before The Relapse – Mixtape by DJ Capco' was also named to retailers but so far none have proven to exist in Australian stores.
