Gareth Liddiard, the furious frontman for Australia’s finest band The Drones, announces his debut solo album.
It has been two years since the release of The Drones last album, Havilah, so a Liddiard solo effort might be the only thing to tide the band's slavering fans over.Of course, Liddiard alone is bound to be a more restrained affair than the chaos of The Drones.
He will record the album at the Havilah retreat in rural Victoria where the band recorded their last album and the selection of songs promise to be stripped-back and acoustic.
That said, anyone who has seen The Drones live will know that Liddiard can't be passionless, no matter how quiet they get. No doubt he'll provide some spine-chilling stuff.
The yet-to-be-titled album will be released through Shock Entertainment on the first of October 2010.
