The music of Depeche Mode will be used in a new musical to be called `Playing The Angel`.
Writer Adrian Buckle has written the story based on two young men who were abused as teenagers.In an interview with The Times of Malta, Buckle said it not expect an Abba or Queen-like musical. "The story can't be a happy one," he says. "It is a story of two boys growing up, coming o f age and discovering love. They are abused, used, taken advantage of. It 's their sad way of discovering life.?I'm not going to invite my grandmother to this musical. Yes, it will push boundaries, but I don't do plays because they are controversial, I do them because they're quality productions, which are relevant to the local scenario."
The musical will debut in Malta later this year.
