Depeche Mode are celebrating thirty years of music with a massive three-disc remix album due to hit stores in June.
The record, which will also be released in a one-disc version, will go by the name ‘Remixes 2: 81-11’ and will come out through Mute on June 6, 2011.
The band brought in a wide range of artists to rework songs from across the band’s entire career including UNKLE, who took on ‘John The Revelator’, Digitalism, who took on ‘Never Let Me Down Again’, Royksopp, who did ‘Puppets’ and Peter, Bjorn and John who did ‘Fragile Tension’.
Most of the songs are new remixes, but some are taken from the vaults dating back to 1988, showing Depeche Mode’s lengthy commitment to the art of the remix.
