Chartfixer, the controversial start-up business that promised you fame and fortune for a fee by fixing the music chart, has shut down.
After last week's outing by Today Tonight, the website which offered to buy 750 copies of your song for $4500 and 5000 for $30,000 to get you an automatic position on the chart, now greets you with "Chartfixer is closed".The Chartfixer business was a wart on the music industry. It was a shady business selling dishonesty.
The business preyed on the naïve. It sold a service that had no hope of achieving the promise of "your ticket to fame and fortune". You were being set-up to be ripped off if you used the service.
Chartfixer was only operating in Australia but had plans to replicate the scam in the USA and the UK.
At no time did the website give details of who was behind the company. We still don't know. There was no contact name, no contact number, no contact address, not even a mailing address, just a generic email. If you know who was behind, please email me and let me know.
Hopefully, no-one fell for the scam because it would have destroyed all credibility for an artist and their career.
Chartfixer is now out of business. Clock up one win to the Australian Music Industry.
