After 18 months away, Garbage have announced they will return to the stage to perform an acoustic set at a benefit concert for Wally Ingram at the Alex Theatre on January 31.
It will be the band's first time on a stage in 18 months putting a stop to unfounded speculation that the group is breaking up.Other musicians to appear on the bill for Ingram, who is recovering from cancer include Bonnie Raitt, The Martinis (featuring Joey Santiago and David Lovering of The Pixies), Keb Mo, Victoria Williams, Tom Fruend and Freedy Johnston.
Garbage have a greatest hits, entitled 'Absolute Garbage', due out in March and singer Shirley Manson is working on her first solo album. Reports are circulating that Manson's as-yet-untitled solo album will feature a John Lennon cover.
