Heaven 17 will tour for the 30th Anniversary of their breakthrough 1981 album `Penthouse and Pavement`.
Founding members Glenn Gregory (vocals) and Martyn Ware (Synthesizers, vocals) will perform the ‘Penthouse and Pavement’ album in its entirety.They will be backed by Billie Godfrey (backing vocals), Asa Bennett (guitar), Joel Farland (electronic percussion) and Julian Crampton (bass guitar).
Gregory and Ware formed Heaven 17 after both leaving the Human League.
The took the bands name from a fictional band name in the movie ‘A Clockwork Orange’. In the movie, ‘The Heaven Seventeen’ had the no. 4 hit on the charts with a song titled ‘Inside’.
In February, Heaven 17 joined La Roux on stage at The Brit Awards aftershow.
They performed the ‘Penthouse and Pavement’ album completely on March 2, 2010.
The Heaven 17 tour will start in Edinburgh on November 22.
Dates include Edinburgh HMV Picture House (Nov 22), Glasgow O2 ABC (Nov 23), Manchester Ritz (Nov 25), Birmingham HMV Institute (Nov 26), London HMV Forum (Nov 28), Oxford O2 Academy (Nov 29), Brighton Corn Exchange (Nov 30) and Bristol O2 Academy (Dec 1). The concert will also include a greatest hits encore, including the band’s massive hit single ‘Temptation’.
