Chris Cheney and Sarah Blasko Win International Songwriting Awards

Chris Cheney and Sarah Blasko have both picked up International Songwriting Awards from the USA.

Chris won first place in the Rock Category for his song ‘White Noise’ by his band The Living End.

Sarah Blasko took home the Folk/Singer-Songwriter category for ‘Bird On A Wire’ from her third album ‘As Night Follows Day.

Other Australia’s getting awards were Troy Cassar-Daley for second place in Country with ‘I Love This Place’, Nicola Watson with Folk/Singer-Songwriter for ‘Windmills’ and Marcela Taylor in the Instrumental category for ‘Sand Storm’.

Third place Aussie winners included Eskimo Joe for Rock for ‘Foreign Land’, Nathan Hudson from Faker for Top 40 for ‘This Heart Attack’, Alexander Gow and Thomas Savage of Oh Mercy for Adult Contemporary for ‘Not For You’, Cam McKellar for Lyrics for ‘Where I’m Calling From’ and Nadia Sunde for Children’s with ‘The Goat and the Goose’.
