Australia’s Kasey Chambers has won the Grand Prize in International Songwriting Competition.
Kasey won the prestigious US-based award for her song ‘Beautiful Mess’.
Kasey also won first prize for the Americana Award for ‘Devil On Your Back’ and second prize for Performance for ‘Little Bird’.
Judges for the International Songwriting Award included Robert Smith from The Cure, Tom Waits, Peter Gabriel, Ben Harper, Jeff Beck, John Mayall and Kings of Leon.
Other Aussie winners included Basement Birds ‘Bus Stop’ for AAA (with Megan Washington in second place for ‘How To Tame Lions’); Kimbra won Pop/Top 40 for ‘Settle Down’ and Alistair McRae won ‘Unsigned Only’ for ‘All Fall Down’.

The Chemist second prize for Rock for ‘Lullaby #1’
Children Collide third prize from Rock for ‘Jellylegs’
