ABC2 will unveil its first exclusive drama / comedy on Monday night and its all about the music biz. Welcome to `I Rock`.
‘I Rock’ takes us into the world of Boy Crazy Stacey, a ficitious Sydney band who never quite get there.The main character Nash Taylor (Josh Mapleston) is the kind of guy everyone in the music business has come across before. He is that arrogant, not so talented muso who cannot understand why everyone else gets the breaks before him.
Nash does all the wrong things by all the right people who look out for him the most. His ex-girlfriend becomes a music journo and slags off the band then leaves him for Val, a member of his band who then leaves his band to start one with her.
Ashley Fitzgerald plays Comet, the beautiful bass player who bats for both sides and seems constantly out of reach of Nash’s advances.
In the first show Tim Rogers has a cameo. Laura Imbruglia has a funny role in show 2 where Boy Crazy Stacey inadvertently steal one of her songs and then perform it at a talent contest she is judging.
‘I Rock’ was commissioned for 8 shows for ABC2.
Episode 1 airs Monday night at 9pm.
