Robert David Hall, aka Dr. Al Robbins in CSI, is about to release his first album.
At 62-years of age Hall has decided to fulfil his lifelong dream and release his debut album ‘Things They Don’t Teach You In School’.An accomplished musician since a child, Hall has been playing guitar for 50 years. He cites his influences as Dick Dale, Hoyt Axton and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
When his brother Steve took ill from cancer only a few years ago, Hall decided to do something he made never done but always wanted to do ... make a record. “I took a leap of faith and went to Austin where Chris encouraged me and helped me polish my songs,” he said in a statement. “I guess I loved music so much I didn't dare do it... I guess it took all this time to get over myself.”
In 1978, tragedy struck when Hall was seriously injured in a car accident and had to have both of his legs amputated. Even then, he says music got him through. “Music is part of every day to me,” he says. Music was the first art form I ever had. I want to play and sing and write songs until I can't anymore. I know that being on this hugely rated TV show has given me a platform but, as far as music is concerned, I think I can stand ? no pun intended ?on my own two feet.”
‘Things They Don’t Teach You At School’ features songs from his lifetime experiences.
